Who we are?
The Royal Oak Public House and Restaurant is set in the picturesque village of Blean in Kent, being surrounded by open fields and uninterrupted views. We also have the advantage of being on the main bus route between the historic city of Canterbury and the fashionable seaside town of Whitstable.
Gary Jefferies, proprietor and head chef is a graduate of the Royal Navy School of cooking. He has over 30 years of experience, having travelled the world with the navy, to being executive head chef at the prestigious Kings School of Canterbury. Gary has also built up his own successful business, Supreme Cuisine, catering for weddings, private functions and corporate events over the past 12 years.
Now at The Royal Oak, Gary is serving delicious homemade food, sourcing local ingredients wherever possible to serve you the finest and freshest produce available. Now into his third year at The Royal Oak his love and passion for his work is reflected in his results of superb food and a well maintained restaurant and bar.
Being a free house we are able to serve you a varied selection of quality ales, lager, spirits and fine wines. This teamed with comfortable, pleasant surroundings along with a friendly efficient service should ensure you have a very enjoyable experience with us.
